Over the past decade, Hicon has been a key player in delivering complex construction projects, particularly in the aviation sector at Sydney Airport. Our experience spans terminal upgrades, extensions, aircraft hangars, BHS projects, and airfield infrastructure works.
Notably, we played a crucial role in the Terminal 2 Departures & Concourse Upgrade, where we navigated the complexities of working across multiple areas, including the terminal, airfield, and BHS hall. Our team ensured minimal disruption to airport operations, implemented a custom waterproofing system to protect critical assets, and overcame challenges like in-ground contamination. We also successfully managed the staged handover of areas to maintain airline capacity during peak periods.
In another key project, the T1 Security Transformation, Hicon showcased innovation by relocating critical comms rooms and demolishing the international terminal roof while maintaining full operational capacity. We engineered a custom retractable roof, providing a creative solution to space constraints and ensuring smooth operations without disruption.
